ICE ARRESTS SURGE TO 10,000 IN FIVE DAYS AS TRUMP DEPORTATION PUSH INTENSIFIES

Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 10,000 people over a five-day stretch at the end of June, according to a report that shows the Trump administration’s deportation effort is still moving fast, even as the tactics have changed. Instead of big, flashy sweeps in major cities, the agency appears to be using a quieter approach to keep the arrests climbing. That shift may draw less attention, but the numbers show the enforcement machine is still very much running.

The latest figures work out to about 2,000 arrests a day, which is a sharp jump from earlier periods under the administration. ICE does not publicly release arrest data, so these numbers came from a person familiar with the information and were later reported by the Associated Press. The Department of Homeland Security says the goal is to arrest and deport criminal illegal aliens, including violent offenders and gang members, and says the administration is keeping its promise to voters.

The surge also comes as the number of people held in ICE detention rose to roughly 39,000 in June, up from about 30,000 a month in previous months. Supporters say that shows the government is finally taking border enforcement seriously, while critics argue the crackdown is becoming more aggressive behind the scenes. Either way, the latest figures make one thing clear: the deportation fight is not slowing down, it is changing shape.
