President Donald Trump stated he does not believe the United States will bear responsibility for a missile that struck an Iranian school this spring, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of schoolchildren. Trump has previously rejected claims that an American missile hit the school, and a spokesperson from U.S. Central Command reiterated to the Washington Examiner that the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
During a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, reporters brought up the subject again, prompting Trump to express skepticism about resolving the issue. "It’s horrible what happened, but there were missiles flying all over the place," Trump said. He suggested it may not have been a U.S. missile, adding, "But I’ve seen nothing to lead me to believe it was."
War Secretary Pete Hegseth emphasized that the Pentagon is taking the investigation seriously and will release its findings at the appropriate time. Trump further asserted, "I don’t think it’s going to be us," when asked whether the Pentagon had reached any determinations, reinforcing his view that numerous missiles were being fired during the incident.
